Taiwan Winner Hsin-Lung Chen

Taiwan, Imperial College London, UK

“The IELTS test is very practical and life-oriented on all its four skills (listening, reading, writing, and speaking). It is not an exam that we are used to in Taiwan. In that case, the more and harder I prepare, the more I can improve my real-life English communication skills. I feel that the experiences I gained and the progress I’ve made can help with my future studies, especially in the discussions and presentations.

“When I was told that I was one of this year’s IELTS scholarship winner, all I can say was how grateful I am. Moreover, this was also an honour! The feeling was beyond the issue of money. To a student like me, who will depart soon, this recognition further builds up my confidence on successfully living and studying abroad, as well as communicating in an English-speaking environment. Therefore, I am really excited that I could win this year’s IELTS scholarship.”
